How To Backup Important Files

Before reinstalling the game, formatting your computer or simply as a good practice, it's clever to backup important Castle Story files such as saved games and maps you've made in the world editor - and we know you're clever, so read on!

Backing up Saved Games
Go into your Castle Story folder, then open the Info folder. The folder you want to backup is named Saves.

The full path is; Castle Story\Info\Saves

The easiest way to backup this folder is to right-click it, select COPY, then right-click in a separate folder (outside of your Castle Story folder, such as on your desktop) and click PASTE. You will now have a copy of your saves folder there, which you can later on copy and paste again back into your Castle Story\Info folder to restore the saves.

Backing up User Generated Content
User Generated Content such as World Editor maps and saved blueprints should also be backed up if you don't want to lose them.

Go into your Castle Story folder, then open the Info folder. The folder you want to backup is named UGC.

The full path is; Castle Story\Info\UGC

The easiest way to backup this folder is to right-click it, select COPY, then right-click in a separate folder (outside of your Castle Story folder, such as on your desktop) and click PASTE. You will now have a copy of your User Generated Content folder there, which you can later on copy and paste again back into your Castle Story\Info folder to restore the maps, blueprints and translations.
